Who's Still On The Wagon?

So, there have been a few people who have had a few yarn purchasing slips - here - take my hand and I'll pull you on back up! So how many of us have slipped and broken the rules, and who is still up here with me? I am actually enjoying this little adventure- it is making me actually remember what I have in my stash, and my imagination is sparked every time I dive back in - what will I make next? What could I do with this weird assortment of leftovers? To be honest, I think it will change how I think about buying yarn, and I'll remember to 'shop' at home before going and buying new yarn.
But maybe that's just me... is anyone having insane thoughts of continuing this after the 15th? I just might! Am I the only one? Please tell me I'm not the only nutjob out there...

Amanda, I am with you. This has changed the way that I look at yarn as well. If I could have one day off on the 15th, to buy some yarn for a sweater that I am dying to make - I would jump back on for another three month stint. I have plenty of beautiful yarn, and great projects that are living under my bed! Plus, it makes me think about what to make next, instead of purchasing impulsively. And with a tiny house, it is actually liberating to make a dent in my stash!!

Anyone else??

I did technically buy yarn on 2/14 but I haven't seen it yet (although they finally said it was being shipped - no communication at all for 2 weeks!), but I have been knitting from my stash all year. It's been fun to use up and organize what I have. And I've given some of it away to swaps and Good Yarn Karma too!

I'd love to continue after April 15th. I've made some excellent progress finishing UFOs since I joined, but I've also made 5 yarn purchases (blush), four of them on the same day (blush deeper). I would love to see my stash diminishing so yes, please let's continue, I will give it 100% effort this time!

Yep! I say we should continue also! We have a great support group here - and you guys are knitting some amazing stuff!

I'd also continue on.. but would need to think about a 'day' off also. I've already given myself dispensation for when I attend the Blue Moon Sock Camp - I'm going to have to get souviner yarn!!!

And nope - haven't fallen off the wagon yet - but I have come very very close once. Damn handpainted laceweight silk yarn (which I still think about.....).

Well, I feel although I purchased yarn (once) for myself I don't think it broke the rules really 'cause it was urgent. I had to get some Sweet Georgia before it's gone for good! That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!! I have found that this group has made me think twice about automatically going to purchase new yarn. I hope to continue using my stash as a first resort not a last resort! Also it's great to have encouragement to convert those UFOs to FOs!!!

I will comment on my own post - I definitely think that SOME purchasing between stints would be perfectly fine... but I'm with ms. sunneshine in thinking about those purchases as PLANNED- to MAKE an actual item, rather than just buying yarn for the sake of having more yarn... I'm psyched that some of us have enjoyed the experience enough so far that they'd want to continue! Yay!
